Wizeline Helps Discovery Kids Media Reach a New Market

Discovery Kids, a sub-brand of Discovery Communications, needed to quickly launch a new LATAM streaming app for children and parents without building from scratch. It chose to adapt Discovery Kids Global’s legacy codebase, but the existing application depended on many costly third-party services and had high operational expenses. Wizeline stepped in to help Discovery Kids LATAM modernize the product and move it toward a more sustainable AWS-based architecture.

Wizeline rebuilt the web version of the application, improved the UX/UI, leveraged the existing backend, and removed 23 third-party services to reduce complexity and cost. The new app was released to the Android and iOS stores with no significant bugs reported, delivered substantial savings from the AWS migration and technology improvements, and became 3x faster on both web and mobile.
