Digital Arts Network Partners With Wizeline to Build Australian Open Chatbot

Digital Arts Network (DAN), part of TBWA Group, needed a more immersive way to engage tennis fans for its client Mastercard ahead of the 2018 Australian Open. To meet the challenge, DAN partnered with Wizeline to scope, build, and maintain a chatbot that could deliver real-time tournament information with an Australian voice and personality.

Wizeline built the AO Fanbot with NLP trained on 59 intents, integrations with Tennis Australia’s content management system, and DAN’s own systems for video, giveaways, polling, and scheduling. Over its 18-day run, the bot engaged 8,770 users, reached more than 5,000 daily active users, kept 57% of users returning daily, and converted 64% of total users into update subscribers, making it the first Tennis Australia chatbot to provide real-time Australian Open coverage.
