Precor stabilizes 24/7 fitness consoles with Witekio

Precor, a worldwide manufacturer of fitness equipment, sought to upgrade its aging P80 fitness console with a new hardware and software architecture to provide an immersive user experience. Their challenge involved developing the new Android-based P82 console, which required deep expertise in software integration on NXP i.MX6 processors and development across both low-level embedded software and high-level user interfaces. To achieve this, Precor partnered with embedded software vendor Witekio.

Witekio provided a full-stack development solution, adapting the Android Board Support Package (BSP) for the NXP i.MX6 processor and performing system integration on the Variscite SOM. Their work included low-level Linux kernel debugging and high-level Android feature development, which significantly enhanced the platform's stability and reliability for 24/7 operation. Witekio also helped stabilize worldwide television and multimedia decoding support, enabling Precor to successfully launch its new P82 console.
