Case Study: NALA Foundation expands WASH-NTD training with Wisenet and Moodle

The NALA Foundation, which works to eradicate diseases of poverty in Ethiopia, needed to scale its in-person workshops on water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) coordination but was halted by the COVID-19 pandemic. To continue its vital work safely and expand its reach, the foundation sought to create an effective online training program. They turned to vendor Wisenet for support in implementing a Moodle-based learning platform.

Wisenet supported NALA in setting up its Moodle platform to host self-paced, interactive courses that were accessible even with limited connectivity. The solution resulted in two highly successful courses that have trained over 250 government officials and NGO representatives. The program achieved a remarkable 97.9% recommendation rate from participants and has been shared with other countries, ensuring the continued growth and impact of NALA’s mission.
