Thames Water, the UK’s largest water and wastewater company, needed to tackle rising customer debt, improve collections, and reduce costs as part of its retail transformation program. Wipro was brought in to help transform its credit and collections management system and improve the customer data needed to better predict payment risk and support different customer situations.

Wipro implemented a comprehensive debt management and collections solution, including customer segmentation, data cleansing and enrichment, integration with a leading debt management platform, and stronger reporting and continuity capabilities. The results included an estimated £37.4 million in extra cash collection, £13 million in total estimated new savings in AMP6, £10 million collected in the first seven months, and improved data quality for 2 million customers, or 57%, through the cleanse-and-append process.
