Leading Oil and Gas Company, a global O&G super major, needed a scalable way to unlock value trapped in years of legacy documents and data spread across disparate source systems, files, COTS, and custom applications. It also faced challenges with inconsistent document quality, metadata, global standardization, and the migration of more than 180,000 files into a new digital engineering environment. Wipro provided data transformation and migration support using its data wrangling services.

Wipro implemented automated aggregation, digitization, OCR-based metadata extraction, deduplication, and data mining to migrate and standardize the legacy information while preserving data integrity. The solution identified over 20,000 ROT files, created a single source of truth, and aligned metadata to the client’s masterclass library and numbering/coding schemas. As a result, Wipro enabled accurate migration with 0% data load errors, improved information findability, reduced redundant legacy data, and supported safer, more reliable operational decision-making.
