Telstra Corporation Limited, a leading Australian telecommunications company, faced significant workforce challenges within its NPS Boost program and its Cable Care D123 network migration project. The tasks required hiring and training hundreds of full-time employees to meet tight, regulator-enforced deadlines. To overcome this, Telstra partnered with vendor Wipro to implement a Robotic Process Automation (RPA) solution.
Wipro implemented its proprietary Command Hub business operations platform to automate the order entry and order build processes using software robots. This solution dramatically reduced the need for manual labor, using 50 robots and 23 FTEs for one project and 9 robots with only 4 FTEs for another. The results were substantial, including financial benefits of over AUD 1.7 million, a 20% cycle time reduction, and over 99% accuracy. Wipro's efforts ensured both programs were completed successfully within their demanding timelines.
