O&G Supermajor revamps POS System to Spur Growth

Leading Oil and Gas Supermajor Company, through its wholly owned automotive services subsidiary, needed to modernize an aging, non-scalable POS system that was limiting customer experience, store-level visibility, and franchisee efficiency across more than 1,800 locations. The legacy platform was on extended support, and the business needed a more seamless, accurate, and consistent checkout experience to support growth and cross-selling.

Wipro re-platformed the POS system to managed Azure Cloud, migrated and consolidated large-scale data, and rolled out the new solution across 1,910 franchised stores and 9,500 POS machines in 50 states. The program was completed in 18 months and reduced annual application support costs by 50%; infrastructure support cost fell by a third to $700,000, labor costs dropped 2%, average net sales rose 3%, and service time improved by 2.5%.
