WaterNSW wanted to cut cost-to-serve and improve agility by expanding its use of low-cost, IoT-enabled low-impact devices (LIDs) for water metering and remote monitoring. Wipro partnered with WaterNSW to modernize telemetry and connect data from meters and monitoring devices into the DIP data lake through an Azure-based solution, helping create a more digital utility.

Wipro implemented secure IoT device onboarding, remote provisioning, and improved Azure telemetry integration, plus a proof of concept for groundwater and surface water monitoring devices. The result was real-time IT/OT data integration, smart dashboards, and a solution designed to support 34,000 devices, reducing manual tasks, lowering costly site visits, improving asset operations, and strengthening security, resilience, and disaster preparedness.
