The Arizona Diamondbacks used Concur to manage travel expenses for scouts, operations staff, and front office executives, but data still had to be entered by hand into Microsoft Dynamics GP. The finance team wanted a fully automated expense management workflow, including approvals, and needed a quick, cost-effective solution before the start of the baseball season. They turned to Wipfli’s ExpenseConnect for GP to close the gap between Concur and Dynamics GP.

Wipfli configured the integration through an interface in Dynamics GP, using Dynamics GP Web Services to pull expense reports from Concur without intermediate files. The result automated the expense process and expanded into areas such as payables and cash modules. The Diamondbacks said the finance team saved up to 5 hours a week in data entry, reduced the process to one payables staff member, and improved internal service by giving employees clearer payment timing.
