American Council of Life Insurers - Customer Case Study

American Council of Life Insurers, a Washington, DC-based trade association, needed to upgrade 11 company databases from Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains 2010 to GP 2013. The team also had to move from SQL Server 2008 and FRx 6.7 to SQL Server 2012 and Management Reporter, while making sure the project stayed on time, on budget, and with minimal disruption. ACLI brought in Wipfli LLP/Brittenford Systems for guidance because its previous IT development partner had not been providing reliable service.

Wipfli LLP/Brittenford Systems worked closely with ACLI’s IT director, handled the upgrade around the team’s schedule, and copied data to the new server overnight so the new Great Plains was ready the next day. The project also resolved a Microsoft-generated issue during the FRx to Management Reporter migration, and ACLI reported better stability, user-friendliness, and reliability with Management Reporter. Dixon said the SQL Server 2012 upgrade saved time and money, and that Brittenford’s detailed progress updates and responsive follow-through exceeded expectations.
