Sil-Mid is a specialist distributor of adhesives, sealants, lubricants and other aerospace/high-tech materials that needed a modern ERP and e-commerce solution to manage rapid growth and high volumes of low-value orders (typically £100–£200). Their legacy online channel only delivered 4% of turnover, so Sil-Mid selected WinMan ERP, including the integrated WinMan e-commerce and WinMan Mobile, to replace the old site and better support batch traceability, pricing, product data and catalogue-style presentation.
WinMan ERP delivered an integrated e-commerce site, CMS, real-time stock/available-to-promise data, SEO-friendly product feeds and mobile warehouse functionality, plus customer self-service (order tracking, invoice reprints, repeat orders). The result: web sales rose to 12% of turnover in year one (beating a 10% target) with a 100% increase in customer base, reached 15% in year two and is targeting 20% by year three; Sil-Mid also revived old accounts, streamlined handling of small orders and improved search rankings thanks to WinMan ERP.
