Case Study: EuroTube accelerates site surveying and construction planning with WingtraOne drone from Wingtra

WingtraOne Drone to Help Build EuroTube

The customer, EuroTube, is developing Europe's first testing infrastructure for a high-speed vacuum maglev transportation system. Their challenge was conducting a highly accurate topographic survey of a long, narrow, and complex construction site flanked by mountains, water bodies, forests, and railway tracks. The vendor Wingtra provided its solution using the WingtraOne VTOL (vertical take-off and landing) drone to meet this need.

Wingtra implemented a solution using the WingtraOne drone equipped with an RX1RII camera and PPK (post-processed kinematics) technology. The drone efficiently captured over 800 images, which were processed to generate a precise point cloud of the site. This data provided the engineering team with the accurate survey needed to begin construction planning, achieving a vertical accuracy of 10 cm and a horizontal accuracy of 3 cm. The Wingtra solution enabled EuroTube to stay on its critical timeline for building the revolutionary transportation test tube.
