A Wingtra Case Study
MWH, a geophysical exploration and survey company, needed a way to complete drone-based mapping across remote mining and geothermal sites spanning hundreds of square kilometers. Their existing fixed-wing approach was limited by difficult terrain, unsafe landing zones, and the need for high-resolution data over very large areas, so they turned to Wingtra and the WingtraOne drone.
Wingtra provided the WingtraOne vertical take-off and landing mapping drone with a high-resolution Sony RX1R II camera, enabling MWH to fly higher, cover more ground per flight, and tail-land safely in remote locations. The result was major efficiency gains: Wingtra helped cut flight counts roughly in half versus the prior fixed-wing setup, enabled projects of up to 277 km² with more than 140,000 images, and delivered reliable performance across hundreds of flights in harsh, dusty, and smoky conditions with minimal downtime.
