The customer, Map61, faced the challenge of efficiently surveying vast and inaccessible wetland areas to document baseline conditions and monitor species composition for preventative mitigation banks. These surveys are crucial for storm damage prevention but are difficult to perform. Map61 utilized drone data from Wingtra to address this challenge.

Wingtra provided its VTOL drone solution, the WingtraOne GEN II, equipped with the high-resolution MAP61 oblique sensor. This enabled efficient, high-detail mapping of large areas from compact take-off points, even within tight time windows dictated by tides. The solution delivered highly accurate data with a GSD of 2.6 cm/px, mapping 140 hectares in just 31 minutes. This reliable data allows Map61 to effectively monitor wetland health and growth, supporting billions of dollars in storm prevention efforts.
