Lerch Weber AG, a Swiss surveying firm, faced the challenge of stockpile volume surveys being extremely time-consuming and resource-intensive when using traditional terrestrial laser scanners. To achieve high accuracy, their ground-based methods required a full day of field work for a 20-hectare site, reducing how often they could conduct these vital surveys.

Wingtra implemented a solution using its WingtraRAY survey drone equipped with the SURVEY61 payload. This approach dramatically cut field time from a full day to just one hour. The results proved nearly identical to the terrestrial scanner, with a volume difference equivalent to only four suitcases, demonstrating Wingtra's high accuracy and enabling more frequent surveys.
