Fast, detailed urban drone survey of Cancún to promote development

Agenda Digital partnered with Wingtra to solve a major cadastral mapping challenge in Cancún, Mexico, where the city’s property information was outdated and based on old satellite imagery. They needed a fast, highly accurate way to survey a large urban area and produce dependable data for government tax, planning, and development use, despite difficult windy conditions.

Wingtra supplied the WingtraOne drone with the Sony RX1R II payload and PPK, enabling Agenda Digital and GeoEarth to map 270 km² of the city to 5 cm GSD in just 19 flying days over six weeks. Using Pix4D for processing and organizing the city into “superblocks,” Wingtra helped deliver precise elevation models and orthomosaics that saved significant time and money versus multicopter or manned-aircraft alternatives, while improving data quality and supporting smarter urban development decisions.
