Ecosystem restoration company uses drones to bring land back to life on a large scale

Dendra, a UK-based ecosystem restoration company working with mining firms, needed a safe and reliable way to map very large areas with high accuracy and enough detail to support biodiversity-focused restoration. Using WingtraOne drones with the MicaSense RedEdge-MX and Sony QX1 cameras, Dendra aimed to capture repeatable, high-quality multispectral and RGB data for assessing degraded land and planning restoration at scale.

Wingtra helped Dendra improve both field efficiency and data quality. WingtraOne’s VTOL design made takeoff and landing easier and safer than their previous fixed-wing drones, while its imaging capabilities delivered better multispectral detail for analysis. Dendra reported covering 4,000–5,000 hectares a day and finishing same-area mapping about a third quicker than before, with much greater reliability and fewer safety issues.
