A Wingtra Case Study
Cavigelli Ingenieure AG faced a major surveying challenge in the Swiss Alpine valley of Lumnezia, where 20 wind turbines were planned at 2,500 meters above sea level in a remote 800-hectare mountain site with no road access and no detailed existing site data. To support wind park planning in difficult terrain and changing weather conditions, they turned to Wingtra and its WingtraOne drone for aerial data collection.
Wingtra equipped the project with a WingtraOne VTOL drone and a full-frame 42MP Sony RX1RII camera to capture survey-grade imagery across the alpine site. The team completed four flights in about four hours, covering 1,100 hectares with 3–4 cm accuracy and generating 3D models for road and turbine planning, while reducing surveying costs and saving days compared with traditional methods.
