Case Study: GeoNel Holding Company achieves fast, accurate city survey mapping with WingtraOne from Wingtra

Bringing a massive drone construction survey in-house for a low-cost, high-quality solution

GeoNel Holding Company, working on the Abia Heritage City development in Nigeria, needed a fast, accurate way to map a very large site for urban planning and infrastructure design. Traditional terrestrial surveying was expensive, and their early drone attempts were slow, costly, and unreliable. They ultimately turned to Wingtra and its WingtraOne mapping drone, equipped with a Sony RX1R II camera, to solve the challenge in-house.

With WingtraOne, GeoNel completed the survey of 835 hectares in just two days and under three hours of total flight time, achieving 2.6 cm absolute XY accuracy. The results became the basis for master planning, flood analysis, and other site decisions, while cutting survey cost to about EUR 4,000 versus much higher outsourced or failed in-house alternatives. Wingtra also delivered a smoother workflow, easier field operations, and responsive support that GeoNel continued using for farm and airstrip planning projects.
