Arizona State University - Customer Case Study

Arizona State University’s School of Geographical Sciences and Urban Planning needed a faster, more efficient way to monitor California’s coastal sand dunes, which help protect nearby cities from rising seas and climate change. The research team had been making repeated 18-hour trips from Arizona to California and needed to collect high-quality data quickly during short field visits. Wingtra’s WingtraOne drone, equipped with a Sony RX1R II camera, became the solution.

Using WingtraOne, Arizona State University was able to fly at 100 m and achieve the same or better resolution than their previous multirotor flights at 60 m. Wingtra also delivered orthomosaic accuracy of 1.2 cm, helping the team complete surveys faster and process data more efficiently. According to the researcher, WingtraOne was “such a boon” to getting the work done in a timely manner.
