Windward Studios Protects and Serves South Sound 911

South Sound 911, the regional public-safety records and dispatch agency serving Pierce County, WA, needed a modern reporting system to support 1,600 users and nearly 30 TB of records across multiple agencies and environments. The IT team required a solution that would integrate with existing systems, allow non-technical staff to design highly customized police report layouts (vertical text, multi-page sections, special footers), produce non-editable output with authentication, and run on both local machines and a web server.

They selected Windward’s AutoTag solution, which lets designers build templates directly in Microsoft Word and integrate with just a few lines of code. The result: report edits that once took hours or days can now be done in minutes, the internal server produces about 1,600 reports per weekday (and ~700 on weekends), distribution workflows are being extended to external partners, and the vendor has proven responsive and easy to work with.
