The International Building Code Association, a member-focused organization that develops model building codes, needed an electronic CRM that could support multiple entities and tightly integrate with its existing Microsoft Dynamics GP environment. They also faced complex reporting and invoicing requirements; while custom SSRS reports and dashboards were built, SSRS’s Word rendering placed content inside deeply nested tables, making Word edits slow, error-prone and inefficient.

Emtec implemented a multi-organization Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 solution integrated with Dynamics GP via Scribe, then added Windward’s Word-based reporting (AutoTag plugin and .NET engine) to produce editable, data-driven Word templates directly from the CRM UI. The result is an integrated CRM/ERP environment where staff can quickly generate, edit and distribute accurate invoices and client documents in familiar Word format, improving efficiency, timeliness and customer service.
