A Windstream Enterprise Case Study
Davey, a 170-location North American tree care and horticulture company, was constrained by limited bandwidth on a single-threaded MPLS T1 network and an unresponsive incumbent provider, which hindered internet, CRM and data app performance and blocked plans to adopt more cloud-based applications. They engaged Windstream Enterprise and evaluated offerings including SD-WAN Concierge™, a dual MPLS & broadband design, Dynamic IP for SIP, MNS Cloud and Windstream Professional Services to address these challenges.
Windstream Enterprise implemented an SD-WAN solution with active/active MPLS and broadband, migrated SIP voice to Dynamic IP, and used Professional Services “smart hands” to reconfigure on-site routers and cabling. The result was significantly increased bandwidth at lower cost, improved application performance and resiliency across Davey’s locations, a seamless migration that freed internal IT resources, and the ability to quickly scale — including doubling headquarters bandwidth to support COVID-19 remote work.
