Communicare, a 795‑employee provider of mental health services with 50 centers across eight Kentucky counties, faced inconsistent bandwidth and unreliable T1/DSL links that hindered video telehealth and secure cloud EMR access. To extend consistent, high‑speed connectivity to remote clinics and support real‑time video conferencing, Communicare engaged Windstream Enterprise to provide an upgraded network solution using MPLS VPN and Managed Routers.

Windstream Enterprise implemented a private MPLS VPN with managed routers, helped obtain USAC rural broadband funding, and integrated the new service with existing last‑mile providers to add QoS, failover and disaster‑recovery capabilities. The deployment delivered higher network speeds and 24x7 EMR access, improved telehealth reliability and uptime, and enabled Communicare to serve more patients, realize greater cost efficiencies, and “be more productive with less.”
