Case Study: NORMAN® achieves an outage-free, high-bandwidth, secure SD‑WAN network with Windstream Enterprise

A manufacturer’s journey to network resiliency

Norman, a U.S. manufacturer with 11 domestic locations and 500+ employees, was hampered by a decades-old MPLS environment that caused occasional outages, limited bandwidth for data sync, an unreliable voice system, and on‑premises security that strained a small IT team. To modernize and build resiliency, Norman engaged Windstream Enterprise and moved to SD‑WAN (SD‑WAN Concierge) alongside other Windstream Enterprise services.

Windstream Enterprise deployed an active/active design with primary Ethernet and secondary cable broadband, Dynamic IP Voice with geographically diverse SIP trunks, Managed Network Security (MNS Cloud) to replace on‑prem CPE, and the WE Connect portal for centralized visibility. The result: no network outages since deployment, increased bandwidth and reliable voice for online training, improved security management offloaded from Norman’s IT team, and elimination of costly MPLS T1s and separate voice circuits—delivering significantly more value at roughly the same cost.
