Annmarie Gianni Skin Care, an online natural and organic skin-care retailer, needed to replace impersonal batch-and-blast emails as the business rapidly scaled (350% growth in 2012–13 and more expected). The challenge was to deliver timely, personalized communications that increase repeat purchases while freeing marketing and editorial resources.
They implemented Windsor Circle retention automation, building 77 automated programs triggered by purchase history, product, predicted reorder dates and customer frequency. The automations have generated over $600K since May 2012, achieved average open and click rates of 56% and 14% (with top performers like customer appreciation at 88% open/23% click and birthday at 83%/32%), and outperformed single sends (open rates +41.6%, click rates +53.9%).
