Qovery, a modern infrastructure automation platform, was previously using Airflow for its workflow orchestration but found that it was limiting in areas such as developer experience, testing, and production management. These limitations became more apparent as the company grew and its needs for observability and complex ETL workflows expanded beyond simple scripts.

Windmill provided the solution by acting as a complete platform to build, schedule, and monitor all of Qovery's scripts and flows. They implemented critical use cases such as a complex, usage-based billing engine and a system to tag users for marketing. As a result, Windmill enabled Qovery to iterate more quickly with the live debugger and completely replaced Airflow for their core billing process, a business-critical operation.
