Bosch Motorsport cuts ECU development time by over 50% with Wind River

Bosch Motorsport, a developer of engine control units (ECUs) for motorsports, needed to rapidly deliver a new product to maintain its market share. The challenge was to create a system capable of hard real-time engine performance and processing massive amounts of telemetry data for endurance racing. To meet this objective, Bosch partnered with vendor Wind River.

Wind River provided a comprehensive solution built around its VxWorks platform, which included middleware, tools, and technical support. This partnership enabled Bosch to drastically accelerate development. As a result, Wind River helped Bosch cut its development cycle by over 50 percent, reducing it from up to two years to a much shorter timeframe, and powered winning vehicles at major events including the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
