Battlefield Hardline transforms a 300-year-old church into a Diablo IV mural in 30 days with Wildlife

Wildlife was engaged by Activision Blizzard to create a spectacular experiential launch for the highly anticipated game Diablo IV. The challenge was to bring the game's epic conflict to life for ravenous fans in a way that was truly mind-blowing, moving beyond standard concept art to create a massive, authentic piece of Baroque-style art.

The vendor, Wildlife, executed the solution by transforming a 331-year-old Gothic church in France into the Cathedral of Diablo. They enlisted a master Baroque painter and a team of artists to hand-paint a massive fresco across the church's vaulted ceilings, a 40-foot wall, and a dome over 30 days. This resulted in the creation of the world's largest art project of the year, which served as the backdrop for the game's teaser trailer and generated significant fan engagement, including a contest for players to have their face immortalized in the mural.
