Womankind - Customer Case Study

Womankind is a Bristol-based charity providing confidential support for vulnerable young women, and it needed a low-barrier online channel that worked for people with hearing loss, limited English, or other accessibility needs while meeting strict security and anonymity requirements. The challenge was to create an approachable, discreet webchat that felt inclusive and protected service users’ privacy.

Womankind selected a customised WhosOn deployment focused on inclusion and security, delivering features such as a diverse, non-stereotyped chat avatar, an occupancy-aware chat button, a one-click “leave this site safely” option, in-chat translation and an anonymous, non-traceable messaging flow. The project met its objectives, has been well taken up by service users, generated positive feedback and is planned to grow in the months and years ahead.
