A Whitlock Case Study
Whitlock partnered with VCU School of Medicine to equip the new James W. and Frances G. McGlothlin Medical Education Center in Richmond with technology that would support more immersive, collaborative medical education. The school’s challenge was to create learning spaces that could better engage students across classrooms, simulation rooms, conference areas, and lecture environments.
Whitlock implemented pervasive video and interactive touch systems throughout the 200,000-square-foot facility, including immersive classrooms with dual displays, whiteboard capture, projectors, and seat microphones, plus a flexible learning theater and videoconferencing for small-group remote learning. The result was a more interactive and collaborative learning experience for students and faculty, with improved support for large lectures, group work, and remote expert participation.
