U.S. Department of Defense optimizes wireless charging coverage with WhiteBox

The U.S. Department of Defense, a customer of the startup WiGL, faced a challenge in optimally placing high-power wireless transmitters to charge drones and military equipment across complex 3D environments. To address this, WiGL partnered with the vendor WhiteBox to develop a solution.

WhiteBox implemented a Python and NumPy-based simulation framework using mathematical optimization to solve the emitter placement problem. The WhiteBox solution factored in obstacles, material properties, and emitter specs, which proved critical for successful tests at military installations and will form the core of WiGL's future mobile application for designing wireless power infrastructure.
