KFund, a leading venture capital fund in Spain, faced the challenge of manually analyzing a high volume of unstructured startup pitch decks in PDF format to extract key investment metrics. To automate this laborious process, they partnered with WhiteBox, which implemented a solution using computer vision and large language models (LLMs).

WhiteBox developed a system that converted PDFs to text using Vision Transformers and then employed LLMs via the Langchain framework to identify and extract crucial startup KPIs. The results were stored in a relational database for efficient comparison. This solution transformed a process that once required a full-time employee into an automated one, saving significant time and allowing KFund to quickly focus on startups that met their specific investment criteria.
