Sumitomo Mitsui Finance and Leasing (SMFL), a subsidiary of Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group, entered the floorplan finance market to meet the needs of a key dealership customer. To do so it selected White Clarke Group’s CALMS Compass floorplan/wholesale finance solution and faced a rapid-deployment challenge—an initial target of implementing the end-to-end system within 60 days to establish the new line of business and customer service infrastructure.

White Clarke Group implemented the CALMS Compass platform, enabling SMFL to launch its first floorplan finance offering; the solution was delivered on schedule, within 90 days of contract signing. As a result, SMFL gained an operational platform capable of managing complex U.S. heavy equipment finance programs that other systems cannot support, allowing the company to service its dealer client and expand into floorplan finance immediately.
