mtheory, an artist development, marketing, strategy and operations company for music managers, needed a more immediate and meaningful way to connect artists with fans beyond email and social channels. Working with Whispir, they looked for a cutting-edge communications tool to help reach and capture fans for major international artists across genres.

Whispir’s platform was used for SMS-driven fan engagement campaigns, including pre-sale alerts, new song release announcements, and in-venue activations that encouraged fans to text in and participate. The results were strong: mtheory reported SMS conversion rates 16 to 30 times higher than parallel email campaigns, with one campaign amassing 60,000 fan contacts in three shows over two weeks and growing its database from 34,500 in August 2017 to 136,000 by January 2018.
