Credit Union of Australia (CUA), Australia’s largest customer-owned financial institution, needed to replace its legacy SMS gateway, which was used for customer two-factor authentication on internet banking. CUA was also looking to modernize its IT service management communications and improve reliability and cost efficiency. Whispir provided the communications platform used to support these needs.
Whispir implemented a more robust, cost-effective messaging solution for CUA, enabling secure SMS-based authentication, automated ITSM notifications, and external customer communications. The platform replaced manual call trees and Lotus Notes email workflows, and was used to stage a major rollout to 75,000 customers affected by a core banking system changeover, sending messages in batches of 2,000 to help CUA manage customer support demand and plan resources more effectively.
