Xero used WhereScape RED to help move its Microsoft SQL Server data warehouse to Amazon Web Services as part of a company-wide cloud migration. The challenge was large: the on-premises environment was 30 TB, included more than 59 billion records, and supported internal analytics and reporting that could not afford downtime.

WhereScape automation helped Xero preserve the logic, processes, and code of the existing warehouse while simplifying the move to Amazon Redshift. The migration was completed by the company’s deadline, largely through the effort of a single developer, and Xero said WhereScape reduced complexity and risk while speeding development and preparing the team for big data and data science work.
