Case Study: Renold Plc achieves clean, consistent sales intelligence and rapid, enterprise-wide reporting with WhereScape

A WhereScape Case Study

Preview of the Renold Plc Case Study

WhereScape provides missing link for Renold’s Business Intelligence

Renold Plc, a global manufacturer of industrial chains and power-transmission products, faced fragmented growth with 13 ERP systems (including SAP), inconsistent and untrustworthy sales reporting, and a four-year timeline to standardise ERP systems that was too slow. Renold needed agile enterprise-wide analytics and better market intelligence for sales staff, so it engaged WhereScape, using WhereScape Red and WhereScape 3D to build a rapid data warehouse solution.

WhereScape implemented a source-agnostic, automated Data Warehouse and OLAP cubes, integrating data from multiple ERPs and making clean, consistent sales intelligence available quickly. Within the first day of the proof of concept Renold had reliable sales intelligence; three months produced a working invoicing cube and six months delivered four cubes. Measurable impacts include reducing data download/reconciliation from 28 working hours to 3 minutes (≈560× faster), daily reports from 1 hour to 30 seconds (≈120× faster), and month-end commercial reporting from 4 days to 3 hours—benefits delivered by WhereScape’s automation and metadata-driven tooling.
