Case Study: WSP improves Sarajevo transport investment analysis with WhereIsMyTransport

Informing Infrastructure Investment Evaluations in Sarajevo

WSP worked with WhereIsMyTransport to support an infrastructure investment evaluation for Sarajevo’s trolleybus and tram systems. The challenge was to understand how the city’s public transport network really operated, in a context where many minibus trips were not completed and passengers often faced long waits or switched to private vehicles because of unreliable service.

WhereIsMyTransport produced mobility data on ridership and transfer points across the tram and trolleybus network, giving WSP hard numbers to inform a due diligence report for an EBRD loan. The data supported demand forecasting, cost-benefit analysis, and fleet renewal evaluations, helping identify routes that would benefit from new rolling stock and improving evidence-based recommendations for Sarajevo’s transport network stakeholders.
