The customer tldraw, an open-source collaborative whiteboard tool, wanted to enhance its interactive experience by integrating participant video feeds directly onto its canvas. They partnered with Whereby and used its Browser SDK with React Hooks to explore building a more immersive collaboration experience beyond standard whiteboard tools.

Whereby implemented a solution where the Whereby SDK was used to connect to a video room and then synchronize the video feeds with user cursor positions in the tldraw app. This resulted in floating video tiles that smoothly followed each participant's cursor around the whiteboard in real-time. The entire functional prototype was built and tested by Whereby in just a few hours, demonstrating the speed and flexibility of the Whereby SDK for developers.
