Hofladen-Sauerland.de is a German online shop founded by Christian Schulte to help small local farmers in the Sauerland sell directly to consumers. As the business grew to include 50 suppliers, a warehouse, and two brick-and-mortar stores, managing communication with farmers and customers became increasingly complex and costly, especially through SMS.

To streamline this communication, Hofladen-Sauerland.de adopted the WhatsApp Business app from WhatsApp in May 2018. The solution made it faster and easier to stay in touch with suppliers and shoppers, and the business now receives more than 20 customer messages a day, has gained 30 new customers, and says 30% of all customers now communicate with the team via WhatsApp.
