HiMate! - Customer Case Study

HiMate! is a non-profit founded by Thomas Noppen to help new arrivals and other marginalized people in Berlin find free community events and services. When more than a million refugees arrived in Germany in 2015, HiMate! struggled to reach users through its website and app, with only about 200 people initially accessing its offerings.

Using WhatsApp and later WhatsApp Business, HiMate! switched to a channel that its audience already used daily, especially refugees connecting with family. With WhatsApp newsletters, quick replies, and away messages, HiMate! now reaches about 800 people each week in Berlin and has up to 200 event passes claimed via WhatsApp, helping the organization become a stronger community presence.
