Green People - Customer Case Study

Green People is a social enterprise in Uttarakhand founded in 2015 to help revive abandoned villages and support local livelihoods after large-scale migration left nearly 1,000 villages nearly deserted. The team needed a simple, familiar way to coordinate a rural workforce that was not comfortable using email, while also keeping operations and customer communication organized.

WhatsApp helped Green People run its day-to-day work by creating department- and site-based groups for reporting, micro-management, and emergency coordination. According to Green People, they have used WhatsApp since day one, and it also supports sharing updates on new destinations and products with customers. The business has seen strong results, including a 40-fold increase in trekkers on Nag Tibba in under three years, and Bakri Chhap now works directly with nearly 80 farmers and indirectly with over 500 farmers.
