Microsoft’s MSX Team Drove a 6x Copilot Adoption Surge with Whatfix

Microsoft’s MSX team needed to drive adoption of Copilot across its global sales ecosystem, but sellers faced resistance to change, low awareness, inconsistent data, and no clear way to measure usage or ROI. Microsoft partnered with Whatfix to support the rollout of Copilot inside Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales and related partner/reseller workflows.

Using Whatfix, Microsoft implemented contextual in-app guidance, Smart Tips, and just-in-time education to show sellers when and how to use Copilot at the moment of need. The results were strong: 89% of Copilot prompts came from Whatfix guidance, active Copilot users increased 6x in two weeks, and Microsoft users engaged with Copilot more than 400,000 times in the last year.
