Poimapper Plus is a real-time data collection and visualization tool used by organizations such as Oxfam, Infosys and Safaricom. While the system records GPS coordinates, numeric coordinates are often mis-transcribed or miscommunicated, and poor addressing of assets, businesses or aid points creates inefficiencies, frustration and can even cost lives.

To solve this, Poimapper integrated what3words into its mobile app: the world is divided into 3m×3m squares, each with a unique three-word address that works offline and in multiple languages. Field teams can now generate and share simple 3‑word locations with colleagues and beneficiaries, reducing location errors, speeding responses and improving coordination between field staff and head office; Poimapper Plus is available on Android and iOS.
