Mobile first GIS cloud platform, Azimap integrates what3words

Azimap is a mobile-first, web-based GIS platform from Cianad Software Ltd (launched March 2016) designed for smaller organisations that lack large technical teams, dedicated GIS professionals or big software budgets. The company faced the common challenge of making location data easy to reference and share: latitude/longitude coordinates are accurate but unwieldy and error-prone for non‑experts.

To address this, Azimap integrated what3words — a global grid that assigns a unique three‑word address to every 3m x 3m square. Users can search for and display three‑word addresses for key points of interest, making locations easier to remember, communicate and verify than pins or street addresses. The integration improves accessibility of geospatial data across devices and helps teams efficiently share precise locations.
