Getting women home safely with what3words and Bikxie Pink

Bikxie Pink, a women-only service from Delhi bike-taxi operator Bikxie, addresses the serious safety risks women face when travelling in Indian cities—especially at night—where vague meeting descriptions can be dangerous and inefficient. The challenge was to ensure female passengers could specify exact pick-up and drop-off locations quickly and reliably.

Bikxie built the what3words system into its app—the first Indian app to do so—so every 3m x 3m square has a unique three-word address passengers can enter or speak (eg. “///bubble.somewhere.speakers”). The integration, which works offline and includes error detection, makes pickups and drop-offs precise, faster and safer, improving convenience and reducing the risk associated with unclear rendezvous points.
