Resgrid is a global cloud communications, management and logistics platform for first responder teams (firefighters, EMTs, SAR, disaster relief, etc.) that centralizes personnel, resources and status updates. One of their biggest challenges was capturing and communicating precise locations consistently across urban and remote areas, where traditional mapping services can be unreliable or inconsistent.

To solve this, Resgrid integrated what3words — a system that assigns every 3m x 3m square a unique, memorable three-word address — into their Dispatch system so dispatchers can create calls with a 3‑word location and send responders directly to that spot. The integration delivers a consistent, global addressing method that improves rural and off-grid response; Resgrid plans to expand the feature into its Responder, Unit and Incident Command apps to enable search, viewing and mapping of the 3m grids.
