Efficient last mile deliveries with what3words and NetCourier

NetCourier, a courier and logistics software developed by Metafour and used by clients such as SwissPost, Addison Lee, Eurostar and DX, faced a common industry problem: imprecise addresses that cause delayed and missed deliveries. Research shows this is widespread—YouGov found 56% of UK delivery customers had experienced an issue in the last year, and Citizens Advice reported 4.8 million delivery problems (11.8 million hours spent resolving them) in 2015/16—creating significant cost and customer dissatisfaction.

To solve this, NetCourier integrated what3words’ addressing system, which assigns every 3m x 3m square on the planet a unique three‑word address, into its booking, tracking and proof-of-delivery workflows. The result is more accurate last‑mile delivery—doorways in dense urban streets and rural farm entrances can be pinpointed precisely—reducing re-deliveries, saving time and money, and improving customer satisfaction.
